WE BEGIN HERE

We are not broken. We are instruments simply out of tune — capable of resonance the whole time.

Resilience isn't a mindset. It's physiology.

A somatic path home for healthcare workers, first responders, and anyone who carries the weight of caring for others.

WHO I AM

My name is Matt Chellew. I work as an emergency physician, and I bring the principles and practices of Somatic Experiencing® to my patients, my colleagues, and now to clients inside and beyond healthcare.

I've spent my career being present for other people's worst moments. It wasn't until about eight years in that I realized the toll it was taking — on my body, my nervous system, my whole being. What brought me back was nervous system regulation: the tools, teachings, and practices of Somatic Experiencing®.

Now I offer those same tools to healthcare workers, first responders, and professionals living and working under relentless stress — so they can thrive rather than cope, and keep showing up in service to others with authentic connection and dignity.

THE WEIGHT WE CARRY

Every day, healthcare workers and first responders hold space for the worst moments of someone else's life. We absorb the shock of trauma that was never ours — and we do it again the next shift, and the one after that.

And it doesn't stay at work. The nervous system doesn't clock out. It follows us home — into the kitchen, into the conversation we're too depleted to have, into the arms of the people who need us most.

This is what that looks like.

We call it burnout. But burnout is a symptom, not a diagnosis — beneath it is a nervous system asked to carry more than it was ever given the tools to release.

HOW THE WORK WORKS

Trauma doesn't live in the story. It lives in the body — the held breath, the shoulders that forgot how to drop. And the body already knows how to heal.

Somatic Experiencing® doesn't add anything new. It removes what's in the way — the bracing, the override, the years of being told to push through — and gives the nervous system space to do what it was built to do. When one instrument finds its resonance, the ones nearby begin to shift. This is coregulation. This is coherence.

Tune the instrument.

And the resonance takes care of itself.
